I was born in Edinburgh and brought up in Stirling, I then completed a BA(Hons)degree in Fine Art at the Slade School in London.

After training as an art teacher, I taught at Barnard Castle boarding school before moving to Africa with my family where I taught art at an International school in Malawi.

I now work as an artist from my home in Glasgow where I live with my husband David and our three children.

I am presently inspired to paint landscape and still-life scenes mainly in oils with an enthusiasm for vibrant colour and bold tone. I enjoy portraying the effect the season and light has upon a landscape and applying  the paint using brushes, rags or a pallet knife.
